I love that the chipsters (chicano+hipsters?) at Club Fonograma occasionally do bad reviews of the new bad albums of really mainstream artists. Ricky Martin anyone? Beside’s it being ironic funny kinda, it shows that the site is more than just an indie site but one that analyzes U.S. latino pop history.

An old friend made an interesting point to me. Of all the people that turned their back on me, none of them were “family.” Even if they’re still affiliated they made no effort to shun me. It’s telling of the solidarity of queer people, even if it is closet solidarity in these big hetero-normative power structures.
